There has been much discussion of sustainability in business for decades, with some chasing trends and wanting to keep up, while others do so cognisant of the impacts of climate change, feeling socially responsible, and taking various measures to make their business climate-neutral. cargoGO is a successful international freight forwarding organisation with a strong presence in the Western European market. Sustainability is one of the values we hold dear, enabling us to survive in a fast-changing market and always adapting to change.

“We are an innovative and modern organisation, not only building a profitable business, but also pursuing our vision of becoming a leading logistics company. We are committed to sustainability and being environmentally friendly. We invest in state-of-the-art vehicles that have a much lower environmental impact, and by educating our employees on ecology and sustainability, we can foster sustainability not only on the roads, but also in our offices.” comments CEO Osvaldas Švitra.

Quality and environmental policy

cargoGO undertakes to conduct its transport activities in accordance in full compliance with the legislation and regulations of the Republic of Lithuania that govern our industry plus the additional requirements that we as a company commit to fulfil in order to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 standards.

Our company innovates and seeks solutions to improve the quality our service delivery, and strives to minimise the use of energy and natural resources, work to raise the awareness on the part of employees concerning environmental issues, take measures for the prevention of emissions causing pollution and encourage a safer and more responsible use of natural resources, and improve waste management. cargoGO not only creates a safe working environment, but also helps employees to understand their own responsibility when implementing sustainability ideas.

Modern fleet

Traditionally, the transport sector’s activities release large amounts of CO2 into the environment, and cargoGO is taking all reasonable measures to minimise the discharge of pollutants into the environment. When expanding our fleet and acquiring new vehicles, the focus is made on cost-efficiency and environmental impact. cargoGO’s fleet consists of trucks that are no more than 2 years old and from manufacturers that guarantee the highest quality: DAF, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Scania, MAN, complying with the Euro 6 Emission Standard.

Implementing a culture of eco-management

The organisation of our company promotes a culture of safe, cost-effective and environmentally-friendly driving. Our drivers are offered regular training on eco-management issues. This is an environmentally-friendly and cost-effective driving style, which justifies sustainability commitments for drivers to customers, partners and themselves, while discharging far less harmful substances into the environment.

cargoGO’s Driver Training Centre conducts periodic knowledge tests for both new recruits and existing drivers. The training takes place in a dedicated classroom with virtual stands, allowing us to use a lot of visual and virtual material during sessions.  The training is delivered by experienced professionals with an in-depth knowledge of driving and technical characteristics of vehicles, interest in innovation, and the ability to improve their knowledge by means of internal and external training sessions.

To sum up, Osvaldas Švitra, CEO of cargoGO, comments that in cooperation with customers, partners and suppliers, the company is committed to sustainability, and strives for a mutually beneficial cooperation, not only for itself and its customers, but also for the community at large. Following market trends, we can see that commitments such as these will be even more important in the future, and are already working hard to minimise the footprint on nature of our activities. The growing confidence our customers have shown in in shows that the path we have chosen is the correct and proper one and responds to their needs.
